August 10   Movie Above the Clouds A free outdoor family-friendly movie. It starts at sunset. Free popcorn & drink during the movie, donations received.

August 11   29th Annual Mayor's Cup 5K/10K Race  Bring the family and enjoy a day of recreation. We will begin the morning with the Free Kids Fun Run, then start the 5K/10K.  Race Day Registration: 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.  Kids Fun Run Race Day Registration: 7:30 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.

Kids Fun Run: 6 years old             Half Mile        8:00 a.m.
                        2-3 years old             50 yards         8:10 a.m.
                        4-5 years old             100 yards       8:15 a.m.
5K/10K Race Begins: 8:30 a.m.

August 11   Woodland Music Series  Jazz & Big Band "On the Green" at the Midland Pavilion adjacent to the Ute Pass Cultural Center. Presenting Swing Factory Big Band at 11 am and Dotsero at 12:30pm.  Admission is FREE.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets and umbrells for the sun.  Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

August 17 & 18  Second Annual Pikes Peak BBQ Showdown Competitors from all over Colorado compete to see who is the best in the West! Event includes live bands, jump houses for the kids, BBQ vendors, Victory Service Dog and beer garden. All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Fallen Soldier Scholarship fund out of Fort Carson. Food, fun and music for a great cause!  

$10.00 entry fee on Friday, August 17, come see the band play, grab some BBQ and meet some of the competitors! Kids get in free!

$25.00 entry fee on Saturday, August 18, purchase your rib token to participate in People's Choice rib contest, the public picks the winner! Grand and reserve champions will be announced roughly at 4:00 pm. BBQ vendors and beer garden will be open all day or until supplies run out! Kids get in free!


August 25   Frontier Frolics  A Summer Dance presented by the Gold Camp Victorian Society.  6:00pm - 11:00pm.  Music & instruction provided by the 4th Artillery Quadrille Ensemble.  Suggested Attire; Frontier - Cowboy.  Assorted BBQ & Sandwiches at 6:00pm.  Cash Bar.  Tickets $25 each.  Contact Rob or Linda Johnson 719-748-0334.
